IBM laptops
If you have trouble with the WLAN not working proberly on the IBM laptops, try doing the following:
- Restart the WLAN network on the laptop.
- To restart the WLAN network do the following as root
/etc/init.d/net.eth1 restart
or use the Control Panel GUI.
You can monitor the progress of the connection procedure by typing the following as the diku user
wpa_gui -i eth1 &
If you have success the wpa_gui
should report Status: Completed
Lenovo laptops
You might experience problems with the wireless network on the Lenovo laptops. It seems to help if you uninstall the network manager and install wicd instead (have already been done this year). Follow the instructions in File:Eduroam.pdf and ask Kim for the driver.
