Robot Eksperimentarium: Tips Player Installation
On Robot laptops
This is how we installed Player / Stage on the IBM robot laptops.
We currently use Player ver. 2.0.4 and Stage ver. 2.0.3.
We unpacked the software into /root and compiled and installed as root.
On Lenovo laptops
We are currently running Player ver. 2.0.5 and Stage ver. 2.0.3 on the host system and Player ver. 2.0.5 in the guest system (the virtual machine).
cd /root/<playerdir>/ export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/lib/pkgconfig/ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/lib export OPENCV_CFLAGS=-I/opt/include export LDFLAGS=-L/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.3.6/
./configure make make install
This will install player into the default directories under /usr/local/
cd /root/<stagedir>/ export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/ ./configure --with-color=/usr/share/X11/rgb.txt make make install ldconfig
This will install stage into the default directories under /usr/local/
See Player/Stage on Ubuntu and below.
Player / Stage can be compiled for MacOSX following a procedure like above. Alternatively, Player / Stage is part of the MacPorts packages.
