2011-09-23 sommer:

New setup for portage. emerge now uses tunnels on ask.diku.dk. Testing on imageserver2. Before using emerge run on ask

 ssh -N -R 11112:rsync1.fi.gentoo.org:87 imageserver2
 ssh -N -R 11111:ftp.klid.dk:80 imageserver2

assuming imageserver2 points to imageserver2 (otherwise use ip). /etc/make.conf on imageserver2 is setup up to use these tunnel.

Running

 emerge --sync
 emerge portage (and updated three conf files)
 emerge glibc (trying to solve freesurfer popen problem)

and

sommer@imageserver2 ~ $ gcc-config -l

[1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.2 *
[2] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.3.4

sommer@imageserver2 ~ $ gcc-config 2

Emerged GNU Scientific Library (gsl):

 emerge gsl

Reinstalled Opencv by hand in /opt/opencv


2009-11-06 :

  • updated gentoo to latest version including...
    • shifting profile
    • added '-apache' to USE flags in /etc/make.conf to prevent installation of apache
    • added 'dev-libs/apr-util -mysql' to /etc/portage/package.use to prevent installation of mysql

(the last point was not done on imageserver1 before upgrading. Mysql is therefore installed on this server)

2009-10-26 runef:

  • Installed sysstat for monitoring resources
emerge sysstat  (required no extra dependencies)
rc-update -a sysstat defaults

2009-08-25 sporring:

glcu failed, updated by hand, no problems except many files missing from diku mirror. Python upgraded to 2.6, keep an eye out for possible problems.

Installed boost on all imageserver machines by doing:

 emerge boost

Apparently no problems.

Installed blas-atlas, lapack-atlas, GLEW, and DEVIL on all machines by doing:

 emerge blas-atlas lapack-atlas glew devil

Apparently no problems.

2009-06-17 kimstp:

Installed OpenCV version 1.1pre1 by hand on all machines in

 /opt/opencv/

Apparently no problems.
